Eagle State Bank opened for business in Eagle, Nebraska on November 1, 1974, President Doug Duey and Executive Vice President Linda Carlson Schmidt began managing the bank on opening day. On May 6, 2013 the bank was sold to a new ownership group and President Ryan Richmond along with the current staff of Linda Carlson Schmidt, Polly Frye, and Terry Caddy are continuing the tradition of community banking and servicing the Eagle area.
Eagle State Bank has enjoyed steady growth and strong earnings over the 39 years of its history and has been awarded a 5-Star rating, the highest rating assigned to banks by Bauer Financial Group. The bank facility is located in what was originally built as the Bank of Eagle around the turn of the century. David J. Duey and his son, Doug Duey, purchased the building and the remodeling began soon after. Following extensive renovation the original bank building contained a large amount of marble, which has been retained in the remodeled facility. The new bank interior is intentionally reminiscent of the turn of the century with antique lighting fixtures in the lobby, oriental-style carpeting and dark mahogany trim and furnishings. The beautiful stained glass street clock was designed and built by one of the original founders of the bank, David J. Duey, now deceased. The clock was installed in front of the bank in 1989 in recognition of the bank’s 15th anniversary. The bank has recently undergone a major expansion, nearly doubling its space and it also includes a drive-up canopy that covers two remote teller kiosks and an ATM. The interior space has been increased to include additional new loan offices, conference room, bookkeeping area, new accounts area and a customer area with a beautiful fireplace.
The directors, officers and staff of Eagle State Bank extend an invitation to stop by to see the newly expanded facility and to become better acquainted. We continue to serve the community of Eagle and provide our customers with high-quality financial productions and services!
